TurfUp Frequently Asked Questions
-
TurfUp is an app that connects homeowners who need lawn care with local landscaping professionals seeking work.
-
TurfUp is launching in select service areas and will expand over time. Download the app to see availability near you.
-
Use the App Store on our website. After installation, create an account as a customer or a landscaping professional.
-
Payments for TurfUp jobs should remain within TurfUp when in-app payment is available. Paying outside the platform may prevent TurfUp from verifying the transaction or assisting with a payment dispute.
For Customers
-
Open the TurfUp app, enter your service address, select the work you need, and provide the required property details. Available landscapers can then respond to your request.
-
Services may include lawn mowing, dethatching, seasonal cleanup, seeding, aerating, and other common landscaping work. The available services depend on the professionals operating in your area.
-
No. TurfUp is designed to help you request lawn care when you need it.
-
Before you book a landscaper, review their profiles, ratings, services, pricing, and other information available in the app to make your selection.
-
You can cancel free of charge before a landscaper accepts your request. You’ll also have a 10-minute grace period after acceptance.
After the grace period, a cancellation fee may apply to compensate the landscaper for time reserved, preparation, or travel. The exact fee will be displayed before you confirm your cancellation.
No fee should apply when:
The landscaper cancels
The landscaper is materially late
The parties agree to reschedule
Severe weather prevents the service
TurfUp determines that a safety or service issue justifies waiving it
-
Review the completed job in the app and follow the prompts to confirm completion, report a concern, and rate your experience.
-
No. Customers see the full service price before booking and are not charged an additional TurfUp platform fee.
For Landscapers
-
Create a landscaper profile and provide your service area and business information. You can then review eligible nearby job opportunities through the app.
-
Yes. You decide which available opportunities fit your services, location, equipment, and schedule.
-
No. Landscaping professionals using TurfUp operate independently unless your official legal structure says otherwise. Your final answer should match the language in your Terms of Service.
-
Payment details, job status, and available payout information are managed through the TurfUp app. Exact timing may depend on job approval, your payout method, and TurfUp’s payment policy.
-
Provide accurate service information, keep your availability current, communicate professionally, complete accepted jobs reliably, and encourage customers to leave honest reviews.
-
You are responsible for having the equipment, transportation, experience, licenses, and insurance required for the services you offer and the rules in your area.
-
After a job is completed and payment is approved, TurfUp deducts a 15% service fee from the landscaper’s listed price. The landscaper can see the exact payout before accepting the job.
For example, on a $60 job:
Customer pays: $60
TurfUp service fee: $9
Landscaper receives: $51
The service fee helps TurfUp operate the marketplace, process bookings, support secure payments, send job notifications, and assist with customer support and dispute resolution.
Landscapers are not charged for viewing leads, declining requests, or eligible canceled jobs.
